Bankan Gold Project

3.65Moz inferred Mineral Resource Estimate at 1.56g/t gold

Bankan’s maiden Mineral Resource only the beginning of the discovery journey

The Bankan Project, located within Guinea’s Siguiri Basin, in a 3.65Moz greenfields gold discovery and the Company’s flagship project. The Company is aggressively exploring the broader Bankan permit, targeting new gold discoveries in new high-grade areas, regional targets and Bankan Creek.

The Bankan gold camp is 356km2 of prolific gold ground, situated in north-east Guinea, within the Siguiri Basin. The exploration work conducted by the Company over a period of 17 Months has produced a Mineral Resource of 72.8 million tonnes at 1.56g/t Au for 3.65 million ounces of gold.

The Company has identified two key deposit NE Bankan and Bankan Creek, located 3km from the initial discovery hole at NE Bankan, successfully identified a high-grade zone in the core of NE Bankan and has identified a number of higher priority prospects within the broader Bankan permit which have already provided highly encouraging results.

NE Bankan

The central portion of the NE Bankan gold deposit is strongly controlled by a major west-dipping shear zone, with most gold and higher-grade zones occurring in the footwall of that shear zone within the felsic intrusives. Recent drilling results at depth in NE Bankan have revealed a high-grade core zone at the centre of the deposit . Resource modelling indicates that the deep highest-grade intercepts form a coherent body of mineralisation at a 3g/t Au cut-off grade. Estimated contained ounces in the lowermost 100m (vertical extent) of the plus-3g/t Au component of the resource block model were 500,000oz gold or 5,000 oz/vertical metre.

New results from seven DD holes (totalling 4,668m) including:
BNERD0105: 41.5m @ 5.2g/t Au from 598m
BNERD0106B: 14.2m @ 6.8g/t Au from 627m
BNERD0107: 5m @ 3.4/t Au from 550m
BNERD0108: 20m @ 0.8g/t Au from 380m
BNERD0109A: 0.6m @ 30g/t Au from 81m, and 24.3m @ 1.4g/t Au from 508m
BNERD0110: 26.8m @ 1.7g/t Au from 626m,
BNERD0111: 24.7m @ 1.4g/t Au from 594m

Conventional mining and processing

Straight forward open pit mine with conventional processing
  • Open pit mining expected to benefit from favourable orebody geometry
  • Orebody open at depth, potential for underground mining
  • Initial scoping-level metallurgical testwork completed has returned excellent gold recoveries under standard test conditions
  • Gold mineralisation confirmed as free-milling with high gold recoveries and amenable to a simple, industry-standard processing
  • Leach recoveries from all gold mineralisation types ranged from 94.2% to 98.5% under optimised conditions

Bankan Creek

Bankan Creek is a satellite deposit locate 3km from NE Bankan. Drilling at Bankan Creek has not yet explored the full extent of the gold mineralised system, both at depth and along strike with further  extensional drilling planned.
