Access to Intellectual Property

PD’s rights to this technology are protected through a series of agreements with the various participants in the pmd*CRC and the company that owns the relevant intellectual property, Ausmodel Pty Ltd ("Ausmodel").  PD’s rights and obligations under the agreements may be briefly summarised as follows:
  • PD will have an exclusive licence to apply the PD Technology for mineral exploration outside of Australia once it has raised A$2 million as long as that occurs before the end of December 2010. The licence will then continue until PD purchases Ausmodel or December 2014 whichever comes first (see next point).
  • PD has the right to purchase Ausmodel at any time before December 2014 as long as PD has raised A$20 million above and beyond the proceeds of the initial A$2 million.
  • PD will also have a non-exclusive licence to apply the PD Technology for mineral exploration within Australia. Ausmodel and the current beneficial owners of the relevant intellectual property (CSIRO, James Cook University and the University of Western Australia) are able to provide a numerical modelling service using the same intellectual property to companies and Government agencies within Australia.

The services will include:

3D geological model construction:
  • terrane or local scale
  • validation to refine existing geological model (including geophysical inversion) and limited geological mapping where necessary
  • geophysical data treatments including wavelet analysis of potential field data to produce “worm maps”
  • Mineral system analysis, including data analysis and field work to determine stress and fluid histories as related to mineralization formation

Numerical modelling of geological processes for simulating the processes involved in forming mineral systems at all scales (in time and space):

  • reactor style chemical modelling
  • coupled deformation, fluid flow ± thermal modelling
  • coupled fluid flow, chemical reaction and thermal (reactive transport) modelling
  • coupled fluid flow, deformation, thermal and chemical reaction modelling
  • consulting advice on data collection strategies based on numerical modelling outcomes
